That's right...the nemesis of my yorkies...that pesky opossum who refuses to find a place to live out on his own and mooches off of us! I just took this picture while my dogs were trying to jump up to get him from the fence. (Did I mention they are yorkies and my fence is six feet tall? he he)

My cousin hand raised a baby possum once. She found it scratching around, trapped in a dumpster as a baby. His name was Choo Choo because he always made this little sneezing sound that sounded like that.
ewww nasty thing
Nasty buggers are they..
You could name him Possum Supreme, lord of all Possums..
You could name him "Peskey"!
We have them too! They come right up to my
patio door and look in at us! We have re-located
a few just to get rid of the troublemakers!
We called ours "Ben"
Oh, my gosh, Leopardcc! How exactly do you relocate? Sounds scary.
It is! We rigged up a pet taxi so that we
could pull a rope to close it. We baited it
with cat food and stayed up one night to catch
the little monster. It went right in and we
closed the door. Then it went nuts, hissed
and growled like it was really pi$$ed! Scary!
Then we took it to some woods far away where
it would be safe--we opened the door and out it
went. Later we noticed it had begun to chew it's
way out of the cage! Yipes! But it was the only
thing we could do, it was eating all the cat
food and really freaking out the cats outside.
Yeah, Leopardcc, I think our little ugly moocher comes in because of the bird food, and our lovely deck that serves as his hotel!
Ack! I hate possums! We have them in our backyard. We live on a very wooded lot and get these creepy guys. One died upside down hanging from a tree in our backyard. It was gross. We kept throwing rocks at it to see if it was really dead.
How about McBeady Eyes or Sir Grossenheimer?
Funny, bluesuze! Yeah, they are gross. I think they look like big rats...their faces remind me of Danny Devito when he was the penguin in the Batman movie...eewww!
I think he could pass for a great witch if he had the witches hat on because of his pointed nose. I think I would name him curious George. I live in the woods too, and we have a lot of possums too! We had some baby raccoons with the mama on our deck one time, and they would tumble and play around our grill and come up to our back door and peer in at us and we would shine the flashlight on them and they would just sit there as if they were not afraid at all! We enjoyed them for quite some time, but the mom would finally leave and they would soon follow them.
