This is the little "island" in my backyard. I've got mostly perennials growing, and nothing is blooming yet (although my peonies are just about to "pop") except for my chives (aren't they cute?) I did plant a rose bush that my son picked out for me for Mother's Day, let's hope the deer leave it alone. All the rest of my flowers will start blooming close to June, so I'll put up another pick when everything is in full bloom and it looks so pretty!

How fabulous! I love the birdbath for water, and the soft circular shape. Will you be certifying this as a NWF Wildlife habitat since you provide food, water and shelter, or is this just for pleasure? Beautiful!
1Thanks desertbanshee! But I'm so upset this morning! I went out there and the few rose buds that were gettting ready have been eaten off! I hate deer!!! Guess I need to move the bush to the front of the house. I'm probably the only person who isn't fond of bambi!!
2Aw, they didn't mean to upset you. They were probably grateful, and the rose will come back, maybe even fuller. But I do understand how aggravating! We have javalina here, and they come through during the night in large herds and eat everything - even my cactus. Is there a deer proof plant you can put where the rose is? I had a large morning glory bush I had been babying, and it was so pretty. Then along came a bunny... but, I try to take it all in stride. Best wishes!
